Recently, an internet research firm carried out a survey it which surprisingly Nintendo Wii Fit emerged at first slot in two categories surpassing very strong contenders. The survey focused on figuring out the product that is searched most on internet.

So here are the findings which prove that Nintendo wii fit is currently the most searched-for product by UK Internet shoppers in Christmas season hovering around. The UK internet search for wii fit was more than nintendo wii in October, where the later product was most popular product last Christmas. However Nintendo Wii managed to claim second slot followed by the third most searched-for gadget, the Apple iPhone.

It seems like the current generation of gaming consoles like the Wii, Playstation 3 and X-Box 360 is reaching maturity as analyzed by data. But still Nintendo wii fit’s search ratio of 1:6 in video games section especially in October has overcome other consoles for run-up to Christmas.

We know things are no longer same as they were last Christmas, so this year we haven’t seen a similar pre-Christmas excitement for console search. However, we conclude that because of weakening economy people are switching to more regular video games than actual console games.

While getting deeper into the details of the most searched for games during October, it has been found that multi-platform video games are most popular; one out of two searches for video games are done by the titles published by the consoles.

In October multi-platform video games got Three of the top five most searched for video games in the UK: Far Cry 2, Call of Duty: World at War (released this week) and Saints Row 2. Nintendo Wii Fit has aided Nintendo Wii Games hooked on second place, accounting for almost one in four video game searches.
